no but "tommy's good people. he's good for you" was INSANE like why did they make bobby say that three eps/couple months into their relationship? especially in a scene that was a long-time coming moment of bobby acknowledging how much buck grew up over the years and how proud he is of him, a moment so important to buck and bobby's relationship and extra important to bobby at that time because of what he was going through. like they didn't have to?? bring up tommy?? at ALL?? i feel like im going crazy

As so many of you are filling my inbox asking about salad and why I found the fact they had two types of salad for dinner in the Buck and Tommy dinner scene so funny, I'm guessing you're new to the 911 fandom - Welcome if so! I am going to give you a very brief rundown of salad and Buck and Eddies various relationships, but @clusterbuck is actually the keeper of salad theory and you can find far more detailed analysis over on her blog than you’re getting from me here!!

I can't find gif of the actual salad moments so have pictures!!

Chris smashed salad bowl that he is making a salad in with his dad in season 4 (in Breaking point) - when he finds out about Ana being the person Eddie is dating.

We have Ana turn up at the firehouse with Chris during the black out in 5x02 with 5 - yes 5 - types of salad When Eddie has his second on screen panic about Ana - when Ravi mistakes her for his wife.

Then in 5x03 just before they break up - Eddie, Chris, and Ana are at the dining table in the Diaz house and they are eating fruit salad

Then in 5x05 we have Taylor with her prepackaged fruit salad breakfast the she has 'made' for Buck when he gets home

she is making a bean salad in 5x09 during the most awkward I love you scene in the history of television!

Then we have a caprese salad in front of Natalia during the Dinner Buck cooked for her in 5x17 - when she finds out about various aspects of Bucks past and present - Taylor on the tv and Kameron turns up

Then in 7x07 - when Eddie is daydreaming of a do over with Shannon during his lunch with Marisol they are eating a salad

then we now have Buck and Tommy eating two different types of salad (a pasta salad and a salad salad) on their dinner date

so basically it's become a bit of a running joke that if salad is involved with Buck or Eddie and one of their dates (especially in their own homes) , the relationship is doomed!

Evan Buckley found himself in relationships with no idea how he got there and what to do when things get hard 5 times. Evan Buckley waited for people to clue him in on how he is supposed to be feeling because the other person made their intentions clear 5 times. Evan Buckley defined himself through his relationship and ended up losing sight of what he wanted because he desperately wants to belong to someone 5 times. Evan Buckley moved in with Abby without noticing, got the loft for Ali, asked Taylor to move in because he cheated, had Natalia pick his furniture after she left him, asked Tommy to move in because he was insecure in what they had and wanted to lock it in. Evan Buckley jumps off the deep end because he wants to be loved so desperately he does not care about chipping away pieces of himself to fit into whatever someone wants him to be. Evan Buckley doesn't need to know what it's like to be chosen. Abby chose him when she called him. Ali chose him when she called him. Taylor chose him when she kissed him. Natalia chose him when she asked him out. Tommy chose him when he kissed him. Evan Buckley needs to know what it's like to have someone stay because he asked them to. Evan Buckley doesn't need to sit pretty waiting for love to find him then watch it all crash because he is stuck making the same mistakes. Evan Buckley needs to wake up and go after someone because he wants to. Without them making their intentions towards him known first so he doesn't get that first rejection. Evan Buckley needs to take a leap of faith and believe the person he loves is going to be there to catch him. Evan Buckley doesn't need to be chosen. Evan Buckley needs to choose.

In other words, there's a few things the 118 doesn't know about Buck. Or Eddie. Or Buck and Eddie's relationship.

Buck's not totally comfortable being alone with a therapist, but fortunately he makes a friend and ally who's willing to help him out - Eddie Diaz from the 136 who's just been caught in an illegal fight club.

Total strangers Buck and Eddie go to couple's therapy together to get out of the therapy requirements their captains have placed on them.

- #thosetwofirefighters starts to gather a following on social media, as everyone tries to figure out if those two cute firefighters from the 118 in LA are a thing or not.

Eddie rolls that thought around in his head, trying to decide the best way to respond, weighing the options of what Buck needs to hear versus how to say it. It’s not a conversation he wants to be having, is part of the problem. Thinking about Buck desperately seeking connection through fleeting sexual encounters with strangers already makes him swallow back a wave of petty jealousy and possessiveness. But there’s an added level of insult to injury to the idea that Buck wasn’t even having good sex. Which maybe explains why despite his initial commitment to delicacy and tact, what comes out of Eddie’s mouth is—

“You probably were. Bad at it.”

Buck’s eyes widen, a strangled noise sounding from his throat.

“Don’t pull any punches,” he shoots back as he hunches in the chair and drains the last dregs of his beer.

“I didn’t mean it like that.”

some of you might be unhappy to hear this but an interview mentioning that Eddie would want to hang out with his bestie of 7 years and the guy he hung out with at least 3 times a week and who he introduced to his son within weeks of knowing him, when said son no longer lives with (or speaks to) him, especially during a time he isn't dating 2 women simultaneously, being alone bar his coworkers and friends who are clearly very busy with other things...

all of that has nothing to do with one ship or another and maybe for once we could just acknowledge that he is his own character, more than ever before probably and just not act like there is something weird about that or as if it Must Have romantic intentions one way or another
